How to Decompose Nested Clips in DaVinci Resolve iPad
In this article/video i will show you how to use the Decompose feature for nested clips in DaVinci Resolve for iPad. If you ever dragged a timeline into another timeline and now want all those clips to sit directly in your main timeline, this is the feature you need. Let me show you how it works.

What Are Nested Clips in DaVinci Resolve iPad?
In DaVinci Resolve for iPad you can create multiple timelines. And you can drag and drop one timeline into another timeline. Whatever you do inside that nested timeline will also be visible in the main timeline. This is called nesting and it has been available for a while now.
But what if you want all the clips from that nested timeline to sit directly in your main timeline? In the past you had to double click the nested timeline, select everything, copy it, go back to the main timeline and paste it. Not ideal.
How to Decompose Nested Clips in DaVinci Resolve iPad
Now you can simply right click on the nested timeline clip and select “Decompose” from the context menu. This will take all the elements from that nested timeline and place them directly into your main timeline at the exact same position.
After decomposing, all elements now sit directly in the main timeline at the exact same position. That’s it. No more double clicking, copying and pasting. Just right click, decompose, done.
