How to Disable YouTube AI Dubbing?

In the end of last year (2024) YouTube started to role out a new automatic YouTube AI Language Dubbing Feature. Some YouTube Channels got this feature already last year and some got the Feature through out the year. So maybe there are still Channels who will get this feature.

The Problem? This feature is turned on automatically and when uploading new Videos these Videos will be automatically translated (dubbed) by AI into other Languages. Most YouTube Creators are not even aware of this. So help spread the word.

In this article and video i show you the only way currently how to turn this feature off. Because the Problem is that Viewers can’t turn this off permanently they have to individually turn it off for each video and even shorts…

And do i have to mention that the AI Voices are so F… BAD…. They destroy the creative work of a video.

What is the automatic YouTube AI Dubbing?

From the moment the automatic YouTube AI Dubbing was activated on your Channel you will see this notice in the YouTube Studio on Desktop.

Suddenly viewers started to complain that i use wired AI Voice for my Videos. Which i was not even aware of. And even worse, it kills the hours of work that i put into the Sound Design of my Videos.

YouTube started to auto Dub your YouTube Video on your Channel into different languages. To help make your Videos also be watchable into different Countries… Unfortunately the AI Voices suck so hard… and it totally ignores people who are multi language. Like most of the Countries in Europe do understand English and follow their favourite english Creators in their original Language.

Currently the only way to turn this new feature off (which is enabled by default) is when the YouTube Channel Owner is aware of this feature and turns it off. So if you want that your favourite YouTuber knows about that, share this with him.

How to delete automatic YouTube Languages Dubbing?

To delete the AI Dubbing Track go to the YouTube Studio on Desktop (does not work in the App) and edit the Video you want to delete the dub.

Open the “Languages”. Here you will see all Subtitles and Dubbing Languages.

Click on the Language you want to delete.

Another Window opens where you can even listen to the original or the dubbing version (select it below the Video Preview). You also see the Dubbing on the bottom. Click on the 3 dots.

Click Delete and that one Dubbing Track is deleted.

How to turn off automatic AI Dubbing on your YouTube Channel?

There is a global setting that you can turn off on your YouTube Channel that will prevent the automatic AI Dubbing completly. If you are like me and want to to help your Viewers than turn this feature of.

In the YouTube Studio (only works on Desktop not the App) open the Settings.

Under Upload Defaults change to Advanced Settings and scroll down and uncheck (turn off) “Allow automatic dubbing”
