How To Use MULTIPLE PLAYHEADS in DaVinci Resolve iPad!

Did you know that you can have multiple Playheads (up to 4) at the same time in DaVinci Resolve for iPad? In this article i show you how you can use them and activate the multiple Playheads in the Color Page.

Why would you use multiple Playheads?

Just by clicking on another Playhead you can use that one even with start and stop, without losing the position of the other Playheads.

At first this feature looks ridiculous. And yeah for like 95% of your Editing Workflow you probably don’t even need this feature. But especially if you work a lot in the Color Page of DaVinci Resolve, with multiple Playheads you can very fast swap between different Positions on your Timeline. This can make references and Color Grading so much faster.

Step 1: Open the Keyboards Shortcuts Menu

Open the Keyboards Shortcuts Menu (Option + Command + K) and search for Playhead. Under Active Playhead give all these Playheads and the Reset Feature a Shortcut.

Step 2: Use the Shortcuts to activate additional Playheads

Where ever your current Playhead is, if you use the Keyboard Shortcut for Playhead B it will be visible on the Timeline and you can grab it and move it. Even start and stop will now effect the second Playhead.

To add the next Playhead i simply use the next Shortcut and i have my third Playhead on the Timeline. DaVinci Resolve supports up to 4 Playheads at the same time. With the last Shortcut you can reset all and you will only have the regular Playhead.
