In this article i will show you, how you can use FCP for iPad just to create a Database with hand drawn animations. The reason to use FCP for iPad for that is, because this is currently one of the fastest ways you can create animations. You simple scribble on the screen and you are done. Let me show you what i mean.

To use the Live Drawing in FCP iPad just click on the Icon on the Top and Draw on the Screen. Done.

How to change the Live Drawing animation speed in FCP iPad?

To Speed Up or Slow down the Animation select the Live Drawing Clip and open the Inspector. Change the value under “Draw On”.

Solution 1: How to export Alpha Channel (Transparent Background) in FCP iPad?

Finally you can render out a Transparent Background even in FCP for the iPad. So if you have enough space to create a Database of Animations with the File Format Apple ProRess 4444 you can do just that. In Solution 2 i will show you, how you can keep the File size moderate and not to big.

Important: Make sure to place your animation on an empty spot in your timeline. The best way, delete everything else and only keep the animation with the black background.

Solution 2: How to render out a smaller File size Video for your Animation in FCP iPad?

Make sure the Animation Clip has no clip under it. So its a black background. Then export the Video only (we don’t need sound) as a regular vide

How to remove the Black Background in DaVinci Resolve for iPad?

Bring the Animation with the Black Background into DaVinci Resolve iPad and places it into the Timeline.

Add the Effect called “3D Keyer” to the clip.

Change the Viewer selection to “Open FX Overlay”.

Select the Animation Clip and open the Inspector and go to the 3D Keyer effect settings. Click on the Pipet + icon and then select the Black Background in the Viewer.

Done. After selecting the Black Color, your animation is now Transparent.
