How to add KEYFRAMES in Final Cut Pro iPad

Step 1: Activate the Animation (Keyframes) Feature in FCP iPad

To create Keyframes you have to select the clip you want to add keyframes and toggle the “Animate” Button on.

Step 2: Change the Format from Opacity to Position

Attention: By default it will be set to Opacity. But if you want to change the Keyframes for the Position value, you have to first change the view to Position.

Step 3: Add the first Keyframe in FCP iPad

To Add our first Keyframe i place the Playhead on the Position of the Clip where the Animation should start and i make sure that my object (The Mouse Shape) is positioned where i want the animation to start. Then i click on the little “+” (Plus) Icon on the bottom right. This will create my first Keyframe.

Step 4: Add the second Keyframe in FCP iPad

Two add my second keyframe i bring the playhead to the position on my clip where the animation should end. Then i simply use the Apple Pencil and click on the Shape in the Viewer. I move it and place it to the end position. This will automatically create a keyframe on the Position where my playhead is. This is why it’s important that you also change the Playhead position. Done.
