In this article today i will show you a very powerful way how to Color Correct your footage in the Color Page of DaVinci Resolve for the iPad. We will take a look at the so called Thumbnail View A-Mode and C-Mode and how this helps you to sort similar clips and cameras even on the Color Page.

What is the difference between Thumbnail A-Mode and C-Mode?

By default all the Clips in the Color Page of DaVinci Resolve on the iPad are shown in the arrangement like in the Timeline.

In this example i created a simple timeline and marked the same cameras with the same flag color. But in the final edit the clips land on different positions on the Timeline.

But what if you have a very huge project with a long timeline and you want to see the same camera shoot next to each-other? Yes, this is possible. For that we have to change the View from the Record (A Mode) to the Source (C Mode).

How to use Thumbnail View Mode in Color Page on iPad?

Open the Keyboards Shortcuts Menu (Option + Command + K) and under Application/View you will find “Timeline Thumbnail Mode”. Give both Commands a Shortcut. Record (A Mode) and the Source (C Mode).

Simply use the Shortcuts to switch between the Thumbnail View Modes in the Color Page

Use the Shortcut for the Source (C Mode) to change the Clip View in the Color Page to Match the Cameras and not Timeline anymore. If you want to see the Timeline view use the Record (A Mode) Shortcut.
