How To Create a SIMPLE 3D GLOBE Animation in DaVinci Resolve iPad

In this article / video i will create a very simple 3d globe spinning animation in DaVinci Resolve for the iPad. In order to make this work we will work with the Fusion Page of DaVinci Resolve. But no problem, its actually very simple. Have Fun.

Step 1: Go to the Fusion Page

The map that i use is a simple world map jpg from Google. Place the image in your Media Pool and drag & drop the world map onto your Timeline. Now go to the Fusion Page of DaVinci Resolve on the iPad.

Step 2: Add a Shape3D and Render3D Nodes

Click the Line, because we don’t need it.

Make sure that you selected the Map Clip in the Cut Page

Connect the lines from left to right. Sometimes the iPad does not create the Line. In that case instead of hovering over the arrow icon i go more left to the text of the node.

Step 3: Change the 2D Map to a Globe 3D Map

Select Shape3D and open the inspector. Change the Shape to Sphere

Go to Transform and adjust the z value until the globe is in the screen

Step 4: Create a spinning Globe Animation

First Keyframe at the beginning of the clip. Simply click the little dot behind Rotation Y.

Second Keyframe we go a couple of Frames into the Video (Click on the Timeline) and change the Rotation Y value

Done. Now we created a simple spinning globe animation. If you want to animate a different direction on the globe you can also use the Rotation X values and create keyframes there aswell.
