What is Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress (GADWP)
I used Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress (GADWP) since over 3 years on all of my Websites. It has over 1 Million Active Installations. It was super easy to use and to set up. I mainly used it for his simple overview inside of my WordPress Dashboard. To be honest. Everytime I needed more detailed Analytics from my Webseite I would actually check the reports over at Google Analytics. Wich is completly Free. The big PLUS for this Plugin was the fast overview. But this is over now. But you can still use the old Version to get this simple instant Overview of Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress (GADWP) Version 5.3.9 back.
Where to download Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress (GADWP) 5.3.9 ?
First source I found is on the webseite from pluginarchive.com. Till today they still had the Old Version 5.3.9 Listed.
- Download Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress (GADWP) 5.3.9 from pluginarchive.com
In case they removed this Version I also uploaded it to my server:
- Download Google Analytics Dashboard for WoredPress (GADWP) 5.3.9 from exlima.net
ExactMetric & MonsterInsights are the same company!
While recording my Video I was wondering if the 2 biggest PlugIns are actually the same Company. I tested a couple of different PlugIns and when I tryed MonsterInsights I saw that everything looked the same like in the new update from GADWP V 6.0.0. When you check the About pages and the Press pages you can see its the same founders and the same Logo.
Since I wrote this article the negative reviews are just exploding. The most funny part is the Core Values the Company stands for. You can find this on there About page:
UPDATE: 2 days after release of 6.0.0
There is a new update 6.0.1 out. Main problem is still the same. I checked the rating on WordPress for Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress (GADWP) by ExactMetrics:
This is one of the fastest drop in customers in history of all WordPress Plugins. The negative reviews – 1 Stars are now more than the 5 Stars. Just 48 hours earlier this Plugin was a 5 Star. CRAZY!
Alternative: GAinWP the same like GADWP just 9 months ago
If you want to use an alternative Plugin from the WordPress Plugin Directory you can use GAinWP. Thanks to Eric from the comments. I checked it and it works like expected. It even looks exactly the same like GADWP. So I compared the php source code. (It could be copy from GADWP).
Downside? The last update was 9 months ago and the company is not really active on their blog and social media. We will see if they still support this Plugin fast enough. For example if there is a necessary update in the future when google changes something with the API. We will see.
On the positive side, they released a video about the Plugin on their YouTube just 3 months ago:
Fazit
This was a perfect example how you NOT SHOULD treat your USERS / CUSTOMERS. The lesson from this is, if you give value and you want to monetize. Don’t take away what you already gave your audience. Try to do a up sell. Create something your audience needs even more.
I hope ExactMetrics is listen to the Users and brings back some of the old features that made this Plugin so great. I really liked to use Google Analytics Dashboard for WP (GADWP) for the simplicity. As an alternative you can use: GAinWP.
This was my article on how you can download Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress 5.3.9. I hope this was helpful for you! If you found a better Plugin for Google Analytics inside of WordPress let the community know in the comments.

Hi, Daniel, and many thanks for exposing such a pathetic scam!
Not only GADWP 6.0 update is awful, but also very intrusive, while the mercantile policy of ExactMetrics* is even worse.
By the way, we have replaced this plugin by https://wordpress.org/plugins/google-site-kit/

In fact, and following the review (see copy below), our TWO WordPress accounts have been DISABLED without warning! 😤
“GADWP 6.0 is awful & the mercantile policy of ExactMetrics is even worse! | WordPress.org”
“And many thanks to Daniel Kovacs* for exposing such a pathetic scam!”

Would Syed Balkhi (founder of Awesome Motive Inc., the company behind WPBeginner & CEO of ExactMetrics) benefit from particular protections?

“our TWO WordPress accounts have been DISABLED without warning”
Well, of course they were. Because you used two accounts. Don’t do that. Don’t sockpuppet. The forums and review systems are there for you to leave reviews about things, not to attack others, not to harass people, not to “expose” things.
A review should be about the plugin. If you don’t like it, then that’s fine, say what you don’t like. But be civil, use proper language, don’t post links to elsewhere, and don’t attack other people because you are unhappy. And yes, most importantly, don’t create extra fake accounts in order to brigade and downvote things multiple times.
Behave like a grown up and your words will be allowed.

@Otto – Instead of blaming others indiscriminately, just know that as being a media, it is normal that each administrator has a distinct WordPress account.
All the more so since, I have ONLY post ONE review about the GADWP 6.0:
“GADWP 6.0 is awful & the mercantile policy of ExactMetrics is even worse!” (being the TITLE)
“And many thanks to Daniel Kovacs* for exposing such a pathetic scam!” (being the actual review)
So, what is the problem?!

Hi, actually there is a better plugin : there was a fork of GADWP a while back, called GAinWP. The fork was made when Exact Metrics first started storing its users auth token on their server, giving them de facto access to their Google data if they wanted to.
GAinWP is exactly as GADWP was 9 months ago (in may 2019). Works the same, has the same features, only the auth stoken storage differs (the info in stored in _your_ database, not externally, as it should be). It only takes 5 minutes to uninstall exact metrics, remove its permission from your google account (yes you should do that) and install GAinWP instead

I made the mistake of upgrading the 5.x plugin to the latest and discovered the hard way that everything is now charged. Now trying to rollback to the older plugin, but getting an error when trying to reauthorise the plugin. “Error 400: invalid_request”.
Now looking for a way to reinstate GA tag code simply.
