In this article/video i share my opinion about one Feature that is currently missing in DaVinci Resolve for iPad and would make the iPad experience so much better. Im talking about the Vertical Editing Mode for DVR when you rotate your iPad into the vertical orientation. In the video i will tell you all what i think and why this would be amazing. DVR vs FCP on iPad?

I never really made a comparison video about DVR vs FCP on the iPad because for me both Software don't play in the same category. DVR is the exact same Software like on Desktop. That means the DVR is best used in horizontal Mode with a bluetooth keyboard.

While FCP is optimised for the iPad and touch experience. It is not the same as the Desktop Version. So you can't do as much as with DVR for iPad but the whole UI is better to use in Touch Screen Mode.

Currently DVR for iPad only supports Landscape Orientation for iPad

The funny thing is DVR even clearly has a vertical mode. But Blackmagic Design want us to use it in horizontal orientation. There is this overlay message coming when you turn your iPad around: "Please set the iPad to landscape to continue using DaVinci Resolve.".

And when i do the same on my 11″ iPad Pro this feels like the iPad was made for that. So please BM i hope this is something that will come soon to the iPad Version of DVR. What do you think about this, do you want vertical orientation for DVR on iPad? Let me know in the comments.
