How To Save multiple Audio Effects Plugin Presets in DaVinci Resolve iPad

In this article/video today i will show you, how you can save Audio Effect Presets to speed up your workflow. I will not just show you one method, i will show you all the ways to save even multiple Audio Plugins at once. This will make your editing life so much easier and you will save a ton of time. So let’s start!

1. How to add Audio Effects to entire Tracks

Instead of Drag & Drop the Audio Effect to a specific Clip you can also Drag & Drop it onto a entire Track. That means all Clips on that Track will have this effect. Huge Time Saver, especially for Effects like the Limiter.

2. How to create Favourites from Audio Plugins and Effects

The most used Effects you can click on the little Star icon next to it.

3. How to create Audio Effect Presets from individual Effects?

In order to create presets from individual Effects, first apply the effect. In my example im using the Multiband Compressor.

This will also open the Effect in a Window, and on the top of that window you can select from Presets you already created.

To create a new Preset, do all your changes you want to save and then click the little Plus icon on the top. Now you can give the new Preset a name. And from now on in all of your Projects, it will be available from the Drop Down Menu as one of the Presets to select for that specific Effect.

4. How to save multiple Audio Effect Plugins all at once as a Preset?

What about if we want to save or apply a couple of presets all at once. Yes this is possible.

Open the shortcuts menu (Option + Command + K) and under Fairlight give a Shortcut for “Presets Library…”.

Change the Filter by to Plugin Presets.

To create a Preset, select the Track you want to create a Preset from. In our case this is Audio 1, indicated with the withe outline. And now click on “Save New”. This will open this window here where you continue with “Create New”.

5. How to apply multiple Audio Effect Plugins all at once to an Audio Track in DaVinci Resolve for iPad?

From now on you have the new Preset available in the Preset List in any Project. To apply this Preset to a Track select the Track or even multiple Tracks (indicated with the white outline) and then click on “Apply”. This will overwrite all existing settings for the Track with the Preset. So make sure you select the right Track.

6. How to save the Audio Plugin Effect Presets outside of DaVinci Resolve?

To save all the Presets from the Audio Track outside of DaVinci Resolve (Because the Preset Library has no export feature) go to the Project Manager and export the current Project.

Save this where ever you like. We will use this as a Template Project with all the settings in it.

When you open this Template Project on a different iPad or a Laptop with DaVinci Resolve, what you will do is basically the same from this article. You will open the Preset Library on the Fairlight Page and then select the Audio Track with all the Plugins and save this as a new Preset. From there you will have access to this Preset from all your Projects.

This is the easiest workaround i found on how to save these Presets outside of DaVinci Resolve. I hope you learned a lot today.
