How To J & L CUT in Cut Page (DaVinci Resolve iPad)

In this article i will show you how you can create a J-Cut and a L-Cut in the CUT PAGE of DaVinci Resolve for the iPad. To make your editing better, you should start using J & L-Cuts. Have Fun.

This is how you create J and L-Cuts in the Cut Page

Since DaVinci 18.5 you can now enlarge the Audio Track with this icon here.

To trim just the Audio clip, click with the pencil between the Audio clips. And drag them to the left or right.

This is amazing because before you had to go to the EDIT Page to do this. Now you can do it in the Cut Page aswell.

What is a L-Cut?

L-Cut: The Audio from the first clips still plays into the second clip. Very good for transitions.

What is a J-Cut?

J-Cut: The Audio from the next Clip starts already before the clip shows visuals. This is powerful to reveal something subconscious. For example the waves of an ocean before the images then jumps to the ocean.

You can even trim just the Audio Clip with the collapsed Audio View. Just click in between the Audio clips.
