How To Duration Markers in DaVinci Resolve iPad

In this article/video today i will show you how you can use Marker Range (Duration Marker) in DaVinci Resolve for the iPad. This is a advanced feature for the Markers you can use to organise your footage in any Video Project. If you don’t know, what markers are, then read these articles first:

Method 1: How to create Duration Marker on Timeline?

Step 1: In the Edit or Cut Page place your Playhead on the position of the timeline where you want to place your marker and click on the marker icon.

Info: This Method “Duration Marker in Timeline” you can create using the CUT-Page or the Edit Page. And everything i show in this Method you can also do on the CUT-Page. Just out of convenient, i work most of my time in the edit page.

Tip: You can always double click on a Marker then this window will pop up where you can change the colour, make some notes and change the name of the Marker.

Hold down the Option Key on your Keyboard and drag with your mouse on the Marker to create a duration Marker.

Tip: Right click on a duration marker and select “Set In and Out from Duration Marker” to Highlight just that part of your Timeline.

Tip: When you use the arrow keys, you can jump in-between cuts of your timeline. But did you know, when you hold down the shift key and use the arrow keys, you can jump between the markers on your timeline.

Method 2: How to create Duration Marker on Clips in Media Pool?

Select your clip from the Media Pool. Then use the In and Out points to select a part of your timeline.

Info: Method number 2 “Duration Marker on Clips” only works in the EDIT-Page of DVR. So for that you have to come to the Edit Page.

Right click on the selected part and chose: “Convert In and Out to Duration Marker”.

This will create a Duration Marker already sitting on your clip. And you can double click it to open the Marker Window to change Colour and Name.

The cool thing about Duration Marker directly on the Clips, if you have longer clips you can create multiple duration marker on the same clip.

Whenever you go back to the clip and want to bring it your marked area of the clip simply right click on the duration marker and select: “Set In and Out from Duration Marker”. Now you can drag and drop just that part of the clip to your timeline.
